Oil Dipstick

My oil dipstick rusted and broke off a few ingines from where it goes into the block, how do I replace this? can I grab it with a pair of pliers and pull it out, or do i need to loosen anything up first?

They just press in and pull out. They can be a pita even with the whole tube there. Good luck with that.

worst case drop pan and tap out from bottom side.

that sounds like it might be a good idea, since i am pulling the tranny i am seriously thinking about pulling the oil pan and changing that rear seal.
