oil gauge gone crazy

I replaced a rocker valve cover gasket today and started my 85 blazer. At first the oil pressure gauge is ok until i give it some gas and it goes past 400 and stays there until i turn the engine off. I made sure no dirt went in on the rockers or oil passages but it is still screwed. Never did it before today. /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I know you messed with everything and now the guage is crazy, but sometimes coincidences can really throw you. I wouldn't rule out the guage.
