Hello,
I have an oil leak on my 454 Suburban. It drips to the ground if not used for a few days. Is it more likely the pan gasket or rear main seal? The engine & trans are original with 175K miles. The valve cover gaskets look good with no leaks. My fist engine of this size, so I'm not sure what the common trouble areas are.
I cleaned the underside with degreaser. Ran it & checked for fresh leaks & I can not tell where it's coming from. It also leaks near the front of the engine so I'm leaning towards the pan gasket. But I guess it could be both.
