I understand there is a replacement part by AC Delco, part no 326562, to fix the oil leak at the speedometer gear. I can not find it on the internet. Are they still available? If not, has anyone tried replacing the seal in the speedometer gear sleeve?

I fix them all the time. Not sure if you have the little bullet shaped housing or the large aluminum housing, but o-rings and seals are available for both. Google if you have a transtar near you. If not, a good old auto parts store should be able to get them in ATP brand. If you have the bullet style, you can get the whole bullet with seals for less than $10.

Thanks for your response. The speedometer gear is in the transfer case and has a steel sleeve surrounding it. I tapped out the seal from the steel sleeve. The seal consists of a thin steel shell with a rubberized center that seals the speedometer shaft. I have measured the inner and outer diameters and thickness of the seal and have those dimensions in inches and millimeters. There is a NAPA auto parts store near me so I will try there first.
