No you should fill each alone.
If the oil comes from the th400 to the 208 it means you have a bad seal.

around 2 or so quarts us. of automatic transmision fluid is spec for 208 tcase fill up.

and dont let this guy work on your stuff as he isnt that smart at all.

there is a input seal on the tcase to keep the 2 seperate. or the tranny would over fill the tcase and then be under the level needed in the tranny to survive.

My 208 took 4-5 quarts. It was a used unit. My uncle has a trans shop. I had it pulled apart, checked for issues, cleaned, sealed, and installed in my 88 K5. I pumped the atf from a jug into the t-case, so my arm was sure that it was more than 2 qts.

I dont think they are meant to be filled all the way to the plug. I did the same with mine when i got it. Did some snow wheelin in 4x4 and when the fluid warmed up i found alot of it coming out the breather. Like easily a qts worth

np208 is supposed to be filled to just below the fill hole with dex 3 transmission fluid

That's where I've always filled mine, fill it till it starts to come back out at me from the fill hole,,, no problems with it yet.
