fuel pressure gauges are kinda pricey, will a oil pressure gauge work as a fuel pressure gauge? talking electrical sending units here. any responses appreciated.

A little tricky. If we are talking carbs, no way. The pressure is too low for it to barely read. Fuel Injected or diesel maybe.

tbi running 18 psi regulator, oil gauge im looking at has a 5-80psi sweep. digital display as well.

Lol i was about to go NO! thinking you meant mechanical. I dont see why it wouldnt work but theres always the issue of A) plumbing it in and B) finding a gauge that has like a 0-30psi sweep rather than 0-75 or 90.

its a digital numerical display, gauge starts at 5 goes to 80psi. plumbing it in wont be a problem for me. im just going to have to solder a wire to the sending unit to ground it. cus normally it gets grounded through the block.

Which gauges are you looking at that the fuel pressure gauge is pricey compared to a oil pressure?

by the time u get the fuel pressure gauge and sending unit to go along with it fuel pressure(at least in the range i need) gauges are around 200, oil pressure digital gauge with sending unit included is around 60. at least from what i found. the styles i like.

Wow, that certainly is a "pricey" difference! The only problem I can see is if the sending unit for oil pressure isn't fuel resistent. Some o-rings that are used in oil systems deteriorate rapidly when they come in contact with fuel. Which brand are you looking at?
