ON occasion when I start my truck, oil pressure will read 0. if I turn truck off and immediately start it, it goes up to 35-40 and will act normal.

So what could be the problem, bad gauge, bad sending unit, bad wires?

If its the sending unit, which one is the gauge, Ive got one behind the dizzy and one by the oil filter on drivers side.

Thanks

Single wire is gauge sender, two wire is the switch.

I'd suspect a sticky sender, but when it acts up, ground the wire then open it (with the truck still running) and see if the gauge responds.

holley truck avenger... POURING fuel down the secondaries at idle... didnt notice it.... even drove the truck for 2 years that way...

truck was actually set that way for about 2months.... driven a few times.....

2 years down the road my oil gauge stopped working... so i decided time to change oil anyway... when I drained the oil and it got on my hands.. wiped right off and reaked like fuel.... my father is a mechanic..he said i just had a good cleaning dont to the internals of my engine.. :eek1:
