my oil pressure sending switch is out, the gauge inside reads flat to the right, i have had a mechanic check it out already, and the oil pressure sending switch is bad. I bought the part at my local AutoZone, the guy who sold it to me was nice and helpful, but the location of the switch was not where he said. I have a 1991 blazer k5, 5.7l, with the 4l60 tranny. can somebody please tell me where the switch is, and if possible provide a picture. thanks.

it's towards the drivers side of the distributor hidden WAYYY under there, behind the cruise control stuff. Mine also went out and I don't see how with a lifted truck I'm supposed to get to it :(

I've had to replace mine for the same reason and it's located just to the driverside of the distributor and it is MUCH easier to remove the distributor to replace this switch. It should be a 3 wire switch which acts double duty as the sender for the oil pressure gauge and also as the back up switch for the fuel pump relay.

If it is that hard to get to, you might want to extend it when you do get to it. Its probably a 1/8 pipe thread, of something similar. A short right angle fitting like NAPA sells, screwed in where the switch goes with a short piece of pipe out to a more accessible place with the switch screwed on the end through a coupling would make it a lot easier to change or test next time.

I don`t know if 91 is the same as an 88.The gauge sender is on the left drivers side rear of the block and has a metal cover that goes over it.the sender for the fuel pump rely and computer are on the back of the block behind intke and distributer.
