just put my sm465 in and friends got me to go wheel my truck a little. but i noticed when i was at angles my oil pressure would go to just about 0. my oil level is fine though... is there anything i can do like a new pan or a sump or something?
ive been talking to a racing buddie and he recomended a dry sump to me but these are pricy. he also said something about a bafled pan that keeps the oil at your pickup point.
assuming nothing is broken, a baffled oil pan is the best bet, but even that will only work for a little while, i remember an episode of trucks, with the crazy horse bronco, where he lost oil pressure going down a very steep hill, and had to shut off the engine and coast down. its just something that goes with crazy angles in wheelin.
but in that episode he put a different pan onn after that oil pressure problem happened. i don't think i want to do dry sump because it does cost so much. i just don't see it for a chevy 350. maybe when an ls1 goes in.
moroso offers a good one, i dont know the part number off the top of my head, but i think they call it the oil control pan, added bonus, its been dyno tested and prooven to add like 25hp.
