What kind of pumps are out there for filling say gear oil? I bought the cheap little one that screws onto the gear oil bottles, and it took FOREVER.

Unfortunately do to my trac bar I cannot fit a bottle up there.

Anybody make a decent air over hydraulic pump for this? Something thats still decently affordable?

How do you get it to run on anything but 12vdc?

Im not much of an electrician...

12V wall wart? (the little black transformers that power whatever electronics from 120V outlets)

My concern is whether a fuel pump can move gear oil ... that sh!t is pretty thick. If so, I'm all over the idea, tired of the manual pumps...

Its worth a try. Now to scour CL for a cheapie lol.

Use your air compressor. On the oil jug drill two undersized holes in the lid for a couple pieces of hoses for a tight fit. One hose (for the compressed air side) gets inserted so that it is above the fluid level. The other hose goes to the bottom of the container and to whatever you want to fill. Turn on compressed air and it'll fill in no time. Just make sure you have a drier on your air compressor so you don't get any condensation mixed with the oil.

Thats a great idea. Sounds messy.

Be cool to have a pre made alluminum cap with fittings on it.....

friend of mine years ago use to work at a soda company . when they discontinued the use to syrup cans and went to the box/bag system he got some hoses / ends and about a dozen syrup cans .

he made a air chuck on 1 hose to pressure up the can to 30-40 psi max . then other hose was the bottom feed line in the can he did a hose with a valve .

he has all his fluids in them . works great.

maybe find the stainless steel fire extinguishers and do the same thing . in my area they can be had for under 20 bucks each at the local company that services them .

I use the old standby,a suction gun...looks like a grease gun,you either pour the fluid into it or you can stick the tube in the fluid and pull back on the handle, and it'll suck it in.(which is handy when whatever your filling is full, you can suck out some to prevent a flood..).then to add fluid, you put the tube in the filler hole, and push in on the handle..best part is they are pretty cheap to buy..and not much to go wrong with them..

These work pretty good.

but I have to ask: Didn't you just weld a drain bung the cover?
Why didn't you weld in a fill bung? Or why not do it now?

Lol I know right.

It's not just for mine though. On the bouncer the front truss prevents you from being able to get a bottle in as well, unless you remove the double ended Psc steering cylinder.

So it was just a thought I had.

I use one of these. Hook it on a cordless drill and pump a gallon of gear oil in no time. They run about 30 bucks.

I was gonna say just get a damn pressure pot. Use it for whatever fluid you need.
Hook up the compressor and let fly the fluid

Cheep and easy! That's what I use too. :thumb:

I have one of everything described. The hand suction pump I use the least. The pressure bottle is pretty much strictly diesel for priming big engines. My drill pump and electric pump are for my oils.
