Hi all,
Any input on 2002 gen 3 6 l Chevy motor. What type of oil does this guy like? And any brand specific? I'm definitely going full synthetic and k&n oil filter. Any help is greatly appreciated thanks and have a good day.

Check out project farm on youtube he has ton of videos on oil comparisons, I believe amsoil and amazon basics was supposed to be some of the best. Although I don't suggest supporting amazon

Whatever’s on sale at o’reilly’s. Served me well for 20 years. Decent oil, decent filters, regular changes. That’s all that matters.

The brand of oil you choose is very personal. A Quality oil filter is a must (Boo on Fram) and same goes for the oil you choose. I just tore down a 4.3l Chev with over 300K and it was perfectly clean inside. Mobil 1 10w30, Wix Syn filter changed every 6K. All my vehicles get the same treatment except the Diesel which gets Rotella 15w40. I keep using the same brand of oil / oil filter and do not switch even though I can get others cheaper. On my transmissions and gears I use Amsoil . My 2002 Tahoe trans just gave up the ghost and has 248K on OE trans. Amsoil change every 50K. On the 4.3l I had a burnt valve and could not pass smog here in Kalifornia. Oh well :(
