So I know about the oil sensor on top of the engine but my blazer had a second sensor that went on the driver side of the engine. Problem is I dont know where exactly it goes. The 4 bolt main block I purchased had a plug near the oil filter where I think this sensor goes. Does anyone know for sure?

Pretty sure it goes in where that plug is/was. My 84 had the one on the top for the guage and the one your asking about was for the idiot light.

On every one of my small blocks, that port on the side has been used for the factory gauge sender (1 prong- large sender). The one on top of the block is the switch for the idiot light & on FI engines, for the electric fuel pump relay emergency override (2 or 3 prong small switch). I understand that some years / models swap locations, so match up your wires with the appropriate switch / sender location.

And, yes, the port immediately above the oil filter in your photo is the one I referred to as the side. IIRC, it is 1/8" NPT.

Are those split lock washers under your head bolts? I'm not saying it's incorrect, but I've never seen them in that application.

Engine looks great by the way:waytogo:
