BowTie Overdrives has a nice adjustable cam TV cable mount. They also have a nice lockup kit too. Worth it to not worry about a switch.

I tried that
hated it
in the trash
went with BTO cam set up

The one you have just doesn't pull right. If you have a Q-jet handy, take a look at the difference and how each one pulls the cable. The Q-jet starts pulling the cable immediately off idle, where as the other one takes some throttle. I didn't like how much cable it pulled out for WOT too.

Also, do you know if this is the second gen 700 or the first? They feel different, the second being better.

its not the original first gen it came out of a 90's suburban and is second gen
it will shift into 2nd at about 12 miles an hour under normal driving

Look into the cable bracket and TCC lockup from BTO.
Also, I wouldn't expect it do downshift from 2nd to 1st. The 700s don't seem to like doing that. I have to mash it pretty hard and pretty fast for it to drop. 4-3-2 should be easy.

I'm no expert with the 700, I've just owned a couple in my blazer. Hopefully someone will chime in that knows more.

I would try this: unplug the electrical stuff and don't worry about torque converter lockup right now.
check your fluid levels.
adjust the TV cable in increments. One click at a time If you have to. When you have it right plug everything back in And see how things go.

The cable should be as tight as possible at wide open throttle and have a straight line pull with throttle opening of about an inch and an eighth or so.
