OK, brothers, this is SERIOUS!!!!

I think it is a good way to boost morale and overall pride of being a CK5 member. If you think of each site as a club we are all competing to be the best! Simply put CK5 is the best, no more no less:)
 
You know what? Some of us just take a lot of pride in seeing CK5 in the number one spot. Call it silly pride if you want to.

This post was supposed to be fun and positive and RAH RAH and all that. It was until you came along. Please avoid hijacking my posts in the future. Oh, BTW, just because you have an opinion, it doesn't mean that anyone wants to hear it.:deal:

wait is it just me or does everyone have to hear your opion too? I kinda think that is the point of a forum and freedom of speech isnt it? if dont want to see it keep going if you dont want to hear it turn it down.
ok so I dont mind ck5 being the #1 site on the list in fact I have gotten alot from ck5 and made alot of friends here. in fact it had alot to do with finally getting my to build my site that i had been trying to mess with for years and finally got modivated. like someone said earlier at least it isnt getting beat out by a ford site. now not just for popularity but I think we should get 2 k5 sites to be #1 and #2 that would kick ass. Im not trying to jack this thread I just think it would be cool to have 2 sites kicking all over fords ass so go vote here too.

Paul, I clicked your links for you....mostly because I want this thread to die or at least drop off the front page and into obscurity.

I am one of the people who could care less how we are "rated" by some 3rd-party website. With 21,000 members, ColoradoK5 is "THE" premier site for GM-related truck info... if ProjectBronco gets more votes, does that make them a better site for me to use??? Will I start going there to get my Blazer questions answered.....? Of course not.

We are not in a heated battle with other Chevy/GM sites.....(who's our next closest "competitor".....PavementSucks?) so I find the whole process meaningless. If people can't find "ColoradoK5" on the web.....what makes anyone think they will somehow be able to locate "Top4x4sites.com" for their helpful list of popular sites? [/sarcasm]

Do a quick Google search on keywords like "Chevrolet K5", "K5 Blazer", or any other set of keywords someone might try to find info.....I think you'll find that ColoradoK5 ends up on the first page of search results almost every time, and in most cases.....is at or near the VERY TOP of the list!!! To my reckoning, THAT is the way people who don't know we exist will find our site.....


Sorry for the rant....as a child, my mother always berated me with that whole: "if your friends were all jumping off a bridge, would you do it too?" scenario...... so I guess I'm sensitive when I'm asked to play along with things like this. :grin:

Don't worry, I won't push the voting thing ever again. I would hate to know that I pressured people into doing something that made them so uncomfortable.......
 
Hey a little pressure never hurt and if you had never mentioned voting before I would have never new about it and I like being a member of a web site that is #1. People need to stop whinning about it and either do it or don't, the way the post should have gone was "hey while you are voting for CK5 vote here _____ also". Would have been much more pleasent and got more accomplished.

Keep rooting for it, Paul. I've seen Steve promote the voting thing more than a few times, so it's obviously important to him. :thumb:
 
It may be silly to some, but I hit the vote button daily. No reason not to. Takes far less time than bitching anyway and I like the fact that the site where I get most of my truck building info stays at #1.
 
I don't think it is a big deal. The only time I have come across top4x4sites.com is when voting for a site listed there. I think they are pulling a fast one on all of us...get us to vote which takes us to their site....where they have advertisements n such. For them it looks like a lot of traffic and they can sell ad space for a premium.

I don't normaly go here, but here is my take:

That is exactly the purpose of top4x4sites, their marketing plan simply puts links to their page from sites likes ours then they get traffic when people vote by going to their page and then they sell advertising, being a Webmaster myself I think it is a great idea.

But, with that being said, I have sold advertising to companies like "Tuff Country" and "Rust Bullet" who found CK5 from top4x4sites, in fact, I noticed that TC advertises there and on a few other of the top position sites so CK5 has benefited from your votes, so thank you Paul and everyone else who likes to vote. :bow:

There, guys. You wanted reasons, you got reasons. The Boss wants us to vote, preferably maintaining the #1 spot, and that's good enough for me.

Keep the votes coming, brothers!!!! We all know CK5 is #1- now let's prove it to the world!!!!!:woot: :waytogo:

Yeah I've noticed the "Out Month", which is the people going to CK5 from 4x4TopSites, is usually as big if not bigger than the number of votes from CK5.
