Here is the Problem 350 TBI suddenly a couple of months ago started running funny, No heat out of heater so I replaced the o2 sensor and put in a new fuel filter, do to the lobing it was doing. Not it warms up inside and the motor warms up fine, but after that oil presure drops below 30 then is lobes and dies. this usually happens every morning or every other, It fires right back up but it is anoying as H.E. double hockey sticks.Sometimes when I get to a stoplight it does the same thing. Help what to do? Is this a fuel problem as in pump or a air to fuel mix or my distributer, what!!!???!??!?!?!??!?!

Does your fuel pump run when you turn the key to run (not start) first thing in the morning? Listen for it, you'll hear it if it does.

How is starting? Easy and fast, or take a lot of cranking before it starts?

Does it have any coolant in it? Did you look? Don't trust the gauge, look in the overflow bottle and the radiator. Touch the hoses to see if they are the same temp.

I will try the hose thing, yes it does start right up though every once in a while it takes a couple more cranks. Yes the fuel pump still is working

You dont need a code reader. I cant remember what terminals on the ALDL connecter you have to cross but you can pull the codes, if any that way. I know which two ports to cross on mine but Im sure someone here knows what you cross. All you need is a paper clip or something similar and youll be able to pull any codes that might be stored in ecm memory. Let me search real quick see if I can turn anything up...

Ok, quick little google search found this...

http://www.troublecodes.net/GM/

Follow the method outlined, read if there are any codes. If there are none then you will just get a continuous code 12. When you turn the key foreward with the dlc connector jumped the ses light will flash 12 twice then list all if any other codes, followed by another code 12 twice to let you know thats the last of the codes.

The check engine light does not have to be on for a code to be stored in the memory of the ecm. The ses light will come on only when the problem is present at that moment, after that the code will be stored. You probably dont have any codes in there but it doesnt hurt to check. Its possible the ses came on sometime while you were driving and didnt notice it.
