Ok so I have everything together. There seems to be no difference between lock and unlock. I turn the rotor/hub and the axle shaft moves no mater which is selected. Also how much force should be used to move the rotor?

Sounds kinda like your lockouts are a little gummed up.

Are you talking about to spin it? After you get it all buttoned up you should be able to spin the rotor without much effort at all. It should spin with a slight amount of drag. There will be more if you have the caliper mounted though.

Apparently I was mistaken in your earlier post--thought you were dealing with drive slugs, not locking hubs.
That spring belongs inside the locking hub assembly.
Looks like you're going to have to tear it apart again .

You were right, it cam from a drive slug type outer. I am taking the selectable outers from a different axle. So I was curious If that was need or not.

I cleaned up the old grease from the outers but I could have done a better job though. Can I use brake clean on them?

I have a new rotor on there. If Everything were right it would be ready to go under the truck:(

Perhaps I made the outer hub nut to tight? Oh well Going to pull it apart again :D

well screw swapping the outers. PO did something to the other side. There is a screw retaining some of the insides. Not worth trying to salvage.

Soooo... Where do I get new outers:D
