Hey y’all. Some of y’all may have caught some posts where I said owner of the company I work for is really a good guy. He does land speed racing as his passion. Anyhow he has old suburban project he farmed out and this video is of the online 6 he will be putting it. Just a hot rod to hit swap meets and such. I saw the numbers a couple months ago. Crazy but it’s just money to get there. HaHa. But you can’t take it with you and he is enjoying life. Long watch. But it’s very interesting to me. Love a custom engine build. He is building another land speed truck in his shop right now. But I’ll add the other race vehicles if any interest. Enjoy.

Funny that video popped up in my feed yesterday and I ended up watching it because inliners are cool.

A couple of the founders of our nomad club were big inliner guys. So I saw a bunch growing up in the club. Wanye head 302 Jimmy sixes are really cool. One of the club guys had that setup in a '55 nomad that was really cool. Another one had a similar setup in a '56 Sedan delivery but had a 1 of 3 4-71 blower kit built by John Bandimere sr way before he built the drag strip in Denver. I think it's the only running setup left. I'll pull some pics off my laptop at home tonight.

Getting old. Thought the '56 had a Wayne head. It don't. But the little 4-71 is still rad. The '55 didn't have a Wayne either, except for the valve cover. But it is a 302 GMC 6 with three dueces. Still cool. I got to ride in that Nomad from the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs to Denver. Never lacked power and sounded like a small block.

Here are a few more of his toys. David is a self made business man. Started form nothing and built his company up to where it is today. His passion is land speed racing Bonneville, Texas mile and East coast mile are a few I know he has run. He has quite a few land speed records on motorcycles and other vehicles.

This one is a 1938 flathead turbo charged that has a few records. Think it’s up to 150 + now. Have to go visit with him and get all the numbers right. He also built a twin engine bike. All Harley bikes and engines.

Then the first car he built for land speed was a 1999 ZO6 1200 HP. That’s he has been running for over 10 years now. Still same engine and still checks out fine. Did catch fire once at Texas Mile, just rewired it and replaced some fiberglass on body. Back to racing. Spun it at bonniville it stayed flat I think 3 times around. When it was going around backwards body panels were ripped off, Trunk doors front fenders and such. Buit was fixed again. There’s a video of fire on YouTube I will try to find it.

The the last one he had built is this beauty. 1954 Chevy truck, his dads then was his shop truck, with a built Duramax engine. This thing is art the way the quad turbo piping is run in the bed.

And here is an article about him and the truck. Kinda long but has lots of good pics of truck at the end and this truck set a record at bonniville this year.
