I was getting the death wobble pretty bad a couple of months ago. I replaced the Balljoints and it went away. Now its back.

Heres what i think it is

My Sway Bar has a bolt thats not all the way in.

If this couldent possibly be it what else could it be.

I replaced my tires this sumnmer, new 1s balanced. I got new balljoints and a front end alignment. My schocks seem ok. My stabalizer is 2 yrs old and i think its still ok.

Anything else?????????????????????

Anything will help

thanks guys.

try tightening it up and see if that helps, if not unbolt it and see if ti goes away. my 4" lift I had bumpsteered like crazy and I never had death wabble though.

I don´t have a Swaybar on any of my rigs and I don´t have any death wobble /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

That'd be pretty lame if that was it. A LOT of people don't even run swaybars.

Have some one turn the steering wheel back and forth while you look at the tie rod ends. There shouldn't be any play that you can see. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

yea i got shocks. my damper i got last summer and its a rs5000 so it should be ok. ill check the tie rods. can i check the berrings without opening the hub? if it was the berrings wouldent it wobble all the time? thatnks

yup, just get the tire off the ground. and push/pull on the top/bottom. assuming ur balljoints arn't loose (as to my horror i recently found out) it shouldn't make any visible movement. (i say visible cus its gonna move a hair that you can't see)

jack the truck up so the tire is off of the ground. Put one hand on the top of the tire and the other on the bottom and push/pull at opposite times of each other and see if the tire moves. You could also use a prybar under the edge of the tire, you want to exert more sidways force than up force. If there is movement, have a friend watch for what is moving to verify that it is the bearings loose and not a bad ball joint.

How is your 'toe in' adjustment on the tie rod? With those big sticky IROKs, if the toe in is wrong, the tires will fight each other big time.
