hey its me again asking another question, i read the tech artical about the 52 in swap on the main page, then in here people talk saying if your going to swap use the 56 in springs. and while your at it use f 250 shock mounts located a few degrees back for added articulation. ok i am getting ready to come home from iraq and need to know which one is the way to go. i am going to order the 52 or 56 in leafs new with a 2 inch lift so it will hopefull even out to 6 in lift with the swap and shackle flip in the rear. so which on is the one i want? i do drive it on the road as well. and how do i find out the shock length i need thanx again everybody :bow:sandypants

52 or 56 is a personal choice. Most of us decide based on what parts we have in the scrap pile. Either will work, it is up to you. I did 56's cause I had them.

To me shock length for maximum flex needs to be measured after you get the springs in. I did my swap & pulled the K5 up on a ramp to decide how much flex was really there. Every rig will be different based on how you do your swap. I built completely new front spring hangers & used 7.25" shackles. I built shock mounts out of tube that ties between the frame & the cage. Not everyone does it the same, so everyones spring swap ends up a little different. If it was a set deal Superlift or whoever would sell a kit.

i here you one the spring prefrence, well how much lift did you get? i am going to do the 4 inch shackle flip and use 2 in lift springs to equal about 6 inches in total in the rear. will 2 inch lift springs in the front with this conversion work out? i want to end up around 6 inches cause i do love the mud in northern fl but dont want to get crazy. i figure i would do the swap like how it was explained in the main page tech articles and do the shock the way they explained on that page too with using f250 shock towers clocked back a few degrees. but if somebody else has a better way im am always up for it.
i really appreciate your help! thanx again sandypants

MIne worked out to around 4-5" w/ stock springs. In the rear I am running an ORD flip w/ a longer than stock shackle & 56" springs long side forward.
