We have an 8x8 crash truck at our airport... that thing is pretty sweet. I was impressed by the speed it has for something that big. Plus the center pivots, right behind the rear wheels of the cab, which sort of helps wiggle it's way through mud etc.. pretty sweet. I'd love to take that sucker out and try to get it stuck... LOL

That is a converted sand train. It was a military rig with one hell of a load capacity. The foward 4 wheels and cab can be detached (via hitch) and then driven around like a big azz bobcat. Really a cool rig.:waytogo:

Yeah, according to the description, it'll haul 5,000 lbs of crap.

It's like a deuce-and-a-half, only better! :D

SEATS MISSING, AND DASH BOARD MISSING, YEAR UNKN, HAS SEVEN FLAT TIRES,

sounds like a winner

yeah that would be cool to have.

you could go this route to an 8x8

Oh no--Oh no, not good enough, LETS FIX IT

24" lift easy ride of course
54" tires
3 wenches, one front, one back, one in the middle so we can pull it straight up.
two GM 572 CID engines, maybe four now that I think about it.
double-doubler
12 to 1 ratio for the gears
sleeeping quarters
bath room
refrigerator
not a roll cage but a roll building
any more ideas

Hey and then we will call it our tow rig.

That is a SWEEEET "Dragon Wagon" conversion!

Yeah, it's my fav out of all the crash trucks, for sure. If I ever try to move to the airport, I hope it's still around, cause I want to be assigned to it. :cool1:

The first time I saw it I was not even in the FD yet.. I still get a little giddy around it.

Heres a few more pics
