im trying to get an ac setup for my 67 gmc its the last thing it needs i ive been trying to decide to spend the 2300 for the old air or save a little more for the vintage air that for my setup would cost almost 3 grand and i was wondering which would work better as ive heard good and bad about both and if one would be better for arkansas climate i cannot put in a factory ac kit i welded the blockoff plate in any information is helpful this truck will be my daily

I daily a vintage air in central Texas and have had it for almost 7 years now. The better your truck is insulated, the better you’ll like the ac. Parking in the shade during the day is a significant help in being comfortable in summer.
The only complaint I have is there’s not a fresh air intake so it’s always on recirculating and on some days can be difficult to clear the foggy spots inside. Other complaints is the blower motor noise cause it’s inside the cab. Not that big of a deal imo.
Pretty sure it’s a gen 2 or whatever, not the newest style.

I have old air in my 86 blazer. Some insulation. South Texas. Not even close to cool in summer. Heat works great.

When I get a few extra bucks. I’m ordering vintage. Hear good things. Hope it’s worth the money.

I put in Old Air in my 87 K10 about 3 years ago. AC works great in the summer, truck is ice cold. I am in Delaware. The only issue I had is with the cut to fit rubber AC lines that have a universal crimp on them leaks after some time. I had one hose leak the first year and last month I found a leak on the second hose right where that universal crimp is located. I recommend you go to a professional shop and get them to custom make your lines. I use Beinz Hydraulics here in Delaware. They use Parker AC Hoses that are guaranteed for life.

I put Restomod Air in ReTonkulous. Other than me over spinning the compressor, 6800rpm is no bueno, it has been good.

Old Air did fine in my regular cab C10. Can't get away from the fan noise or lack of fresh air vent, just the way those systems are. Not sure it would have been enough for a blazer but they have bigger units. :dunno:

I have Old Air in my 67 GMC. Their customer service is great. They sent me customizable length hoses and I had local hose shop crimp. I can get 35° at vent. My experience with Vintage has been a large amount of electrical part failure. My truck was non ac. I kept the floor vents for fresh air.

Did vintage air in my k5. Works fantastic. Install was straight forward and it worked right the first time.

Vintage air in a 86 blazer with floor insulation. Barely enough to keep you from sweating on a hot day. Works well, though, no issues with it, just doesn't seem to be enough when it's hot and dry out. Blower motor is a bit loud, but i don't think you're going to get away from that.
