I am trying to gather a cab for my pickup cab on blazer frame swap...I found a 1978 cab in great condition...CHEAP....and it is local. Will my 1987 fenders bolt to the 78 cab or not....

thanks

Well yes but you need a few things from the donor truck, parts that relate to the hinges.
I can get yoiu a run down of the parts after I talk to Eric, he's done quite a few of those.

hood hinges or door hinges..If the fenders bolt on to the cab, won't my current hood hinges that bolt to the fenders work??What about doors? Will my 87 doors bolt to the 78 cab?

The hood hinges are different, they bolt to the fenders and the cab.
The door hinges are the same they still bolt to the cab.

Im not sure on the fenders swapping, I know the doors will. But click the link in my sig to see my blazer/pickup cab swap.

hmm, ive got a 79 out back that's getting a 86 cab and hood and fenders, if you need any hinges, let me know asap or they're gettin scrapped, they're urines for shipping

I appreciate the offer...but I am at the point that if what I have doesn't work, I WILL MAKE IT WORK...And if I can't make it work, I will make it...I had wasted all my disposable income on my 1971 2wd truck so the blazer gets the left overs which isn't much...lol....

I figure if the fenders don't bolt on, I will narrow my core support ~12"-16" and tie the core support into the cab with tube and then make some aluminum skins... I would at least like to keep SOME of my original hood...

I dunno, I guess I am just examining the possibilities now.... I just wish steel was cheaper..Hell, the Model 3 bender with the dies I would use was CHEAP compared to how much the tubing I could use costs...

Keep the comments and opinions coming...

Thanks yall...

I thought about that but ever single buggy and truggy around here looks like a CJ or YJ... I am going to measure my fender bolts today when I get a chance and then have my buddy measure the cab that I will be getting and see if they are close...I know the doors are the same now so I may just use the door hinge as a refference...

thanks again

I guess i misunderstood you.
I thought you were putting an all newer front clip.
The fenders alone, I doubt you can make work, but you can try. :D
The fenders will bolt to your cab but the core support and hood are different.

cmon, jeep grille in a fsc with fenders, im probably gonna do it lol... the cab should bolt right on as will the fenders, im 99% sure..

The cab, the fenders will bolt up, it's the old hood and core support that will probably not fit on the newer fenders.
:D
