In my shop. Doing stuff.
I recieved a call from the city Parks department a while back, from the persons personal cell number. Wanted to let me know, since we have used the park for years, that the sitting city council is completely anti off road. I know, just insane. They would like to see the trails around Moab shut down to motorized vehicles. Nuts, every one of them.

The council members have been driving around to city facilities being used by off road groups to make notes of rules being broken. Petty little *itches.

The parks department is then informed of said broken rules and the groups are not allowed to use any city facilities again. *asterds.

So, The Old City Parks is a no alcohol and no dogs park. If we want to use it in the future, we need to follow those rules this year. I am looking into private facilities, but we can not afford them without raising the entry prices a lot.

So no alcohol or dogs for the 3 hours we are there.

I am not going to ask anyone to leave, but you will be on the hook for new event location next year. When BFE is done, that might be an option. We will have to see.

Even as simple as not getting the deposit back will make things hard, let alone not being able to city facilities in the future.

I forgot about the deposit. Thanks for reminding me. Just when I thought I was going to get some sleep tonight.

Are they going to crack down on questionable street legal rigs? A couple of years ago, MRK5 got pulled over for not having a license plate light:eek1:

I have not heard anything about that. Mrsk5 was stopped for the lack of light. It was more for a sobriety check. And she doesn't drink, so the joke was on the officer.

Plus, I think that was even a county mounty, and not a city cop.

so follow all the rules to a T and make sure we leave the park cleaner than we found it.
Can you post up the FULL OFFICIAL list of rules the city has? i wonder if there is a decent way to get this info out to everyone registred... i didn't know this thread existed until someone told me about it about 5 mins ago.

I think the lack of help cleaning up and doing general trash police needs to be addressed also.

As well as the not alcohol and no dogs needs to be enforced. Because that is a very easy thing to catch so if they are looking they will find it.

I have a question cause I have a feeling it might be looked at weird and potentially get us in trouble with them or between each other.

Is the staging area across the street ok to have alcohol?

I’m probably one of the biggest beer drinkers attending BB18. But I’ll take the heat off of others and answer that question. And the answer is no. It’s public consumption of alcohol inside the city limits, basically on a city street. There’s no way that’s “OK”.
These rules aren’t new for this year. They’ve been in place for some time. I’m sure they were there when the first blazer Bash was held. It’s just feared that this year the city will be policing it more so than before.

Yes I agree, I mainly posted it for information. I won't even be attending the bash this year but wanted it to be out in the open for potential issues.

I've never been a big fan of cameras but maybe we should think about filming or photographing the park before arrival and after we leave to CYA.? Also could be used to deter petty council members if they know they might be captured on camera?

Edit: I just read through the city council members bios. Oh boy...
