I found a 94 5.7 for the wifes K5 and need to carb it. I can get older Edelbrock Performer intakes around here for 75.00 or so all day long. From what I read the older intake just has to have the four center bolt holes oblonged a bit. Is it really that easy? What about longevity? I dont mind spending the money, but Id hate to throw away money if I can just woller out a few holes. So whats the scoop?

First off, the vortec V/8 did not start until 1996. Now sounds like you have an intake for a 1986 and older engine and want to put it onto the 94 which has the four center intake bolts at a different angle. Yes it is as easy as just oblonging those 4 holes BUT you must also grind or somehow else machine the surface that the bolt head seats against so that it gives a flat surface for the bolt head. Once you see the angle of the bolt you'll figure out what i'm talking about.

they make a intake to bolt to the newer heads.also could swap the olderheads to the newer block.
