I have a bolt together interior roll cage for my 84, does anyone know who made these? its pretty old, its buried in storage right now or I would post pictures.

Probably a Smittybilt design. I have some old articles I saved back in 2003 talking about K5 rollbars and Smittybilt is mentioned for a bolt-in design (which requires welding) so not sure how bolt-in it actually is/was

Smittybilt used to make one. A bit before my time to have bought one but they were pretty hokey pokey.

Its bolt together has sleeves that hold the sections together then you can bolt it together and bolt it to the floor. Any literature would be neat to see.

Not sure what the tubing is made from but if you sleeved it and plug welded it it would probably help somewhat…..most of the bolt together ones I’ve seen are “sport” cages

25+ years ago there was a big Chevy on 44's with a Smittybilt cage that came to the local mud bogs, coolest truck ever.

I remember the company name. Off Road Ltd. I remember it because I thought when looking at all of the bolt in and on stuff, "off roading should be limited when using their products."

The owners son said the Jimmy was built wrong and was a pile of junk. I was not standing there when he said it, so he is still walking today.

I have a few scanned articles from around 2000 that show/discuss roll cage installations in K5/Trucks. If you like, I can send them to you or upload here.

Those are the same pictures that have been on the site since 2007. The Blazer picture on Metal Masher is from the same run I was on that year. At the beginning of that trail is when he said the Jimmy was crap.
