So I picked up some tools from an estate sale over the weekend, and was wondering if anyone knows anything about them (good, bad, things to look for...). They seem to be in really good shape. I'm most curious about the vises - they seem to be old and really stout, but I can't find much about them on the web.

1) A set of 3 Tumico micrometers (0-1, 1-2, 2-3)
2) A big (6" jaw width, about 80 pounds) Athol bench vise
3) A little (4" jaw width, about 40 pounds) Athol bench vise
4) An old (cast iron) Rockwell floor drill press
5) An Enco horizontal bandsaw

I also got a bucket full of C-clamps and 250 pounds of lead ingots for casting bullets...all for $200

All i can say is you did good as the floor drill press is worth at a minimum what you paid for everything. What is the model # on the drill press?

i think that rockwell made a really nice drill press but 4x4high will probably be the one to talk to about that tool.

hahaha he got to it before i did.

i REALLY REALLY want a horizontal bandsaw....
He's still got like three of them left (one is a vert/horiz with coolant jets). Shipping would suck balls, though.

He's also got a couple Southbend lathes, a Rockwell mill (a buddy of mine is buying that one I think) and a Bridgeport, all at bargain-basement pricing.

I don't remember. I'll stop by tonight and see...

PM me your number and if he's still got it and you want it we can prolly work something out.

If you buy a vertical bandsaw for that its a good deal

I would love to find a deal like that

I dropped by at lunch today, and the big tools are all either gone or spoken for (I had gotten my stuff on Saturday).

He was gonna get rid of a bunch of garbage, and then re-assess the situation and figure out what to do with the little/leftover stuff.

I'll get some pics when I get time...I'm on a plane at dark-thirty tomorrow morning to Florida...
