When I worked at the DOT, we had a BIG Napco converted 4x4 topkick (a 94 or so, IIRC. It was the heaviest non dumptruck truck we had so, it was a barrier truck (one of the ones with the big fold up cushion that's at the beginning of a worksite for people to run into if they fly off the road towards the workers). It was about 6" or so taller than a regular topkick. I always thought it would be AWESOME as a giant pickup truck!!! I kept hoping it would go up for auction but, it never did.
Found somebody on cardomain that has a truck that looks like what I had envisioned for it (Imagine with bigger more aggressive tires and a front winch bumper. This one looks to be a 2wd so also imagine about 6" higher):

Yeah I've been looking into building one of these trucks again. Ole Reliable is on her last leg for the body, but I'm having a hard time deciding if I want to cut up Big Red to use as my next work truck. But I have no use for something that big anymore besides the kool factor.
My next builds will prbably just be upgrades like diesel swap, doubler, and axles on Big Red. But I still look for C60's, dueces, and International crew cabs. In fact, if they werent so slow and a b**** to drive, I'd get a duece and build a full body on it, with about a 4' box on the back for hauling camping and biking gear, as well as the occasional big grocery run.
