whats there to flame about?
This truck is NOT a 6x6. Its a standard 4x4. Go tell the seller that and see what he replies with. :doah:

Too much chrome. Too many balls on the bumper. I mean, what is WITH that bumper?

And yeah, not enough axles.

I beg to differ.

Six wheel drive, 6WD, and 6x6 are terms used to describe a six-wheeled vehicle with a drivetrain that allows all six wheels to receive power from the engine simultaneously. Most six wheel drive vehicles have two wheels at the front and four at the rear and require the driver to manually switch between drive to the four rear wheels for on road and all-six for off-road.

I understand the term 4x4 to mean that you have 4 wheels and of those 4 wheels, all four of them receive power. Similarly, with a 6x6 you have six wheels total and all six of them receive power.

This truck fits the definition. All six wheels receive power. :p:

Well aside from the 6x6 debate and the lame tail lights, that is a pretty sweet truck. ESPECIALLY by NJ standards. :eek1:

Oh come on! Nice greezzyyyy card board under the "no leaks" truck.

And are those EuroTails I see?:haha: :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha:

Then how do you explain the popular Deuce 'n Half truck as a 6X6? By your definition it should be called a 10X10:crazy::crazy:

I'm sticking with 3 powered axles and a set of wheels on each side.

Exactly. Its not how many tires are powering the rig, but how many axles there are.

Exactly like you quoted, the 2.5 and 5 ton trucks with 3 axles are dubbed 6x6. Go check out Boyce Equipment site, USA 6X6 site, etc. etc.

The dually truck shown in this auction is a 4x4, not a 6x6.

I should put up a poll and let the viewers make the final decision.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but I beg to differ in return.

Each spindle with the tire/rim (no matter if it has 4 of them on each spindle) counts as ONE. The 4x or 6x term is not determined by how many actual tires/rims are on each spindle but rather how many spindles there are.

The 2.5 and 5 ton military trucks are dubbed 6x6 since they have a front driving axle and two rear driving axles. There are 6 spindles on them and 6 sets of tires/rims. Even though there are 10 tires altogether, as said above, it is NOT a 10x10.

BRAND NEW 100 AMP CHROME ALTERNATOR, BRACKET & BELTS. BRAND NEW EDELBROCK AIR CLEANER. ALL LIGHTS ON BACK OF TRUCK ARE BRAND NEW. BRAND NEW HEADLIGHT DOORS AND STAINLESS GRILLE. BRAND NEW MUD FLAPS.:eek1:

wow, all that. the 3 things that I see wrong with it are the C30 designation. and where did the passenger side inner fender go? Nice of him to list air conditioning then snap a pic of the A/C unhooked and taped off.:doah:
