OMG! crooked body **DAY THREE RECOVERY**

Re: OMG! crooked body **DAY ONE RECOVERY**

Krazie,

Maybe this is God's way of telling you that you need to build and integral rollcage that ties into multiple frame points??!!!! /forums/images/icons/cool.gif That would keep the frame from flexing and would add a lot of torsional stiffness.

I would look at this as a GREAT excuse to do upgrades..!!!

Waiting to see what Dan replies back to you as far as his wife allowing him to do such a project like that! /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Re: OMG! crooked body **DAY ONE RECOVERY**

I'm surprised Dan still has a wife... /forums/images/icons/grin.gif If I would have done half of what he has to his truck in the last 6 months I'd be sleeping in it. /forums/images/icons/shocked.gif

/forums/images/icons/laugh.gif LMAO!!

Even more amazing that he has 4, count 'em, 4 kids and the wife still lets him build up the Blazer!!! /forums/images/icons/shocked.gif /forums/images/icons/wink.gif /forums/images/icons/grin.gif

Re: OMG! crooked body **DAY ONE RECOVERY**

4 kids? I guess he doesn't have a TV... /forums/images/icons/grin.gif /forums/images/icons/grin.gif

Just kidding Dan. Our neighbor has a 8 year old boy, a 4 year old girl and twin 3 year old girls...I'm not quite sure how they stay sane. /forums/images/icons/confused.gif

Re: OMG! crooked body **DAY ONE RECOVERY**

LMAO boys... /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif Actually Rene - I've got a TV - AND cable! /forums/images/icons/wink.gif Guess I have no excuse! /forums/images/icons/smile.gif As for the wife - she thinks the damn truck is a curse. But I keep telling her that I have NO other hobbies (other than computers, but that's what makes me $$$$$!) so she should be happy that she knows where I am, and what I'm doing. TO TOP IT ALL OFF, I'M ONLY 25! /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif So I still have lotza energy to wrench, and a big imagination to see all the mods coming together. Besides, she gets to stay at home while I bring home the $$$$$ - so technically... nevermind... we won't go there in case she reads this thread!!!! /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

As for the body... YEA RIGHT! Bill, the wife would KILL ME DEAD if I asked for $1000 for a cage like that. I read your post to her, and she snickered - and then said, "tell the boys I don't fall for that!"

Come to think of it I still have to buy...
1. Willy's rear shock cross member ($85)
2. DT 8000 shocks all the way around ($130)
3. New rim and 36" TSL for a spare ($220)
4. TWO ford dual speed elec. fans (BOUGHT TODAY!!!! /forums/images/icons/smile.gif $50)
5. MOO front cross member.. the BBC keeps setting on the stock CM... and I'm done looking at it! ($150)
6. two MOREtrips with the "Midwest K5 Krew" this year!
(~$635)

I'm sure I'm missing a few things... but that is what I have planned next paycheck... LOTZA OT on that one! /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Enuf... I've blabbed too long! /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

Having 4 kids sounds like another hobby to me... /forums/images/icons/grin.gif

I always tell Deb "I could be wasting time in a bar somewhere..."

BTW - today after leaving the truck alone in light of the cooling system upgrade that I was working on, the truck DOES seem to be leveling out. /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif And that's without doing anything to it at all... that must mean that the springs are settling back down, and my normal ride height is being restored!

Thank God! I was REALLY worried on day one! Lesson learned... NEVER LEAVE YOUR RIG CROSSED UP! BAD CALL!!! /forums/images/icons/shocked.gif /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

I'd bet it isn't the springs but the body itself...

A leaf spring spends most of it's life in the loaded arch position and the truck could sit for weeks and if you pulled the springs out they'd curve up into free arch no problem. That was why I suggested loosening the body mount bolts and retightening them. The body probably slowly shifted on the mounts while it was crossed up and the bolts are tight enough to hold that twist for quite a while.

We should have told him to take his truck out and jump it a few times. Maybe the bouncing would release the binding. /forums/images/icons/grin.gif

Re: OMG! crooked body **DAY ONE RECOVERY**

No wonder he drives that Mini Van - huh Wes? /forums/images/icons/grin.gif Oh, that reminds me Wes, hows your Grand Am (truck **) doing? Sure is a good ole truck! My BMW has been a great parts truck. Ask Todd, I drive it to the junkyard all the time! Just havent brought home a 14 Bolt in the trunk yet! /forums/images/icons/cool.gif

** in reference to seeing Wes haul a TH400, NP205 in his Grand Am. Not before he unloaded 2 SM465 trannies, and an NP205 and all the accessories! /forums/images/icons/grin.gif
