are caliper mounting brackets the same as SRW? how do you pull the caliper off a DRW d60 i am having a hard time taking this apart. if anyone has a pic that would begreat. im looking on pirate and it doesnt seem to be the same.

Re: on a d60 drw....

I have a SRW D60 under my Blazer and a DRW D60 under my dually and as far as I know the Caliper mounting brackets are the same on both. I have had the calipers off of both and they both came off the same way. Let me know if you need any specific info.

Re: on a d60 drw....

They are the same. Remove allen head bolt, drive out retaining clip, remove caliper.

Re: on a d60 drw....

Take a long, flat style screw driver and bend the last 2" or so to a 45 degree angle. With the spindle off, go in from the outboard end and place the screw driver behind the bearing and drive it out.

Re: on a d60 drw....

There are no caliper bolts holding it on. If you look at the bottom of the caliper there is a hex bolt. Take it out and you have to drive out the clip and tensioner. Then lift the caliper up and out. I can take some pictures in the morning when there is daylight if you still need them.

Re: on a d60 drw....

I've got everything out except for the lower kingpin dust cap and bearing race. Banged the WEE out of it... no go. We got one dust cap off the other just broke down the middle from the drive. /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif

Any adivce?

Re: on a d60 drw....

Sorry, I don't have any advice for you on getting that race out other than keep pounding on it. I do have a question for you though. Are you using a kingpin rebuild kit and if so, where did you get it from and what did it cost you? i am planning to rebuild the outer ends of my dually axle and am looking for the most complete kit at the best price.
Thanks,

Russ

Re: on a d60 drw....

Randy's Ring & Pinion for.. 40 some odd dollars per side.

One of my king pins was immaculate the other had some surface rust but not pitted or anyhting. my springs and bushing were also not bad. but im going to replace
everything but the kingpins themselves, as they are a be-otch to get out I hear.

I can give you my kingpins that come in the kit if you can just get bushings/springs from ORD. but then you gotta rebuild the lower kingpin, so I dunno.

Re: on a d60 drw....

With much persuasion, the lower kingpin race & dust cap came off... notice the dust cap pictured, broke it while beating the crap out of it!
