I am building a 70 K10. Its got 52" springs in the front, and crossover steering. I really like where my build is going and I think its gonna ride really well. However, when on pavement you really notice the body shift side to side when you turn the steering wheel. Am I gonna have wandering issues when I get it on the road? I plan on driving this alot. Should I add a panhard bar?

I have cross over steering in my blazer and I haven't noticed anything like that. I don't have 52" springs, so can't speak to that, but I don't think the steering is the issue.

i have 56" front springs and crossover steer with a d44 axle. i havnt had any problems on the road as my truck is currently my DD. if you have slop you might have loose TREs or need to adjust your steering box itself with the adjust screw on top.

All the TR and balljoints are new. My front springs are pretty soft. Are you guys running sway bars?

What kind of shocks are you guys running? My truck will be a daily driver and mostly on the road. My ride height eye to eye distance is 25".

I'm running a 60/14 bolt with around 9" of lift and crossover/highsteer. I have stock length (eye to eye) front springs, but they're for a Toyota, so they're softer than regular. Anyways, no swaybars for me, and I'm running Bilstein 5150's with 14" travel. It doesn't wander at all and drives really great! I think if you get your caster in and have a steering stabilizer you'll be all set. Just remember it's not a sports car. I drive mine like a big a$$ lifted old truck and it never disappoints:waytogo:

You are talking about body shift and side to side movement WHILE sitting still right? It might not be a big deal, since there is a lot of torque going various directions while steering, especially sitting still.

Are the bushing new in the 52s? You might want to enlist someones help. Have them move the steering wheel while you look under the truck. Your question doesn't sounds like a shock/ swaybar/ TRE/ball joint...problem, since you're not moving, but maybe some bad body mounts, center pins, U bolts, bushings, etc. :dunno:

The bushings are new. There's no shocks on the truck, and no ubolts yet. I figure once everything is put together it will be noticably tighter. I'm not too concerned right now, I just don't like surprises.
