I have a 205 out of a 73 pu that was behind a th350 and it doesn't look like the one behind my sm465 in the 70 Blazer( little things like fill plug the same, but drain is different). Did they have a different case set up on different transmissions/case combos?? I know that behind the th350/205 the linkage was bolted to the side of the trans, but on the 70 model sm465/??? it has a sort of box it sits in with a plate in the bottom with a H pattern for the tip of the 4x4 shifter to follow in. It will not go into 4 low either, it will go in 2H, N, & 4 H in a L pattern but in wont go on up into the 4low position(any ideas on that, and how do i fix it.

iron this is a one owner local, i know that this truck has never been modified, did they put 203 in 1970

Click on the link in the previous post and look at the specs for the '70
M stands for manuel tranny and A for auto.

yup--Dana 20 !

Gm did use the Dana 20 transfer case in some 69-72 trucks--usually those with straight sixes and three speed trannys..not sure if they will mate up with an SM465 ,I think not--they only had one adapter available for the 3 speed manual as far as I know--(they had a goofy shifter built into the adapter!)..I've seen Dana 20's in trucks up to 1975 with the 3 speed manual too..not sure if GM was who put them there, but one truck was supposedly a one owner, that a friends grandfather ordered, with a 292 six and a three speed...only seen a handfull of these in my life..pretty rare!..

The NP205 was the T-case they used most often back then--earlier trucks had a Rockwell T-221 T-case...the NP203 didnt appear until '73,but got swapped into many earlier trucks...
