ONE BIG JIMMY "Everything In TX Is Bigger!"

Well I could not stand it!
Had to do something

I took the old support out
Hell I might leave the support off so I can get to everything for the wiring and plumbing

Put in a little work yesterday

Started installing the wiring harness.
Have some work to do still on that but about 60% installed.

Cleaned up the hydroboost and was able to get it mounted
Cleaned up the blower motor and put it on

Did a little fine detail on the hubs today

Little model masters international orange paint applied with the fineline applicator and I think it turned out pretty good

Was looking for a place to put the cruise control module
So after placing it all over I decided to mount it in the trouble light mounting area.
It made the most since and looks like the factory installed it there.

Got some work done today on the Jimmy

New master painted and installed
Brake pedal assembly installed
Vacuum tank put on the wall
Cleaned and installed the steering column

Worked on the xj steering shaft upgrade. Ground down the steering column output shaft so the xj shaft will fit.
Took a little from all sides that way I did not thin down just one side.
Fits great!

It is nice to start getting this stuff off the shelves and floor and back on the ride!

Looks good!
I am slightly confused by you having to grind on the column shaft. Mine didn't require any work, at least from what I remember.

It would not go on. Even with prying the opening apart as much as I could
We are only talking roughly 1/16” removal
And it slid right on.

Worked on the ride a little bit this evening
Got the frame extensions mounted and the rear bumper

I’m looking for the filler panel that goes between the body and bumper
I had one but it did not return from the paint shop

Also worked on the parking brake
I purchased the brake cables for a k20 SRW drum brake
So in the first pic you can see the small spring that wraps the cable
That spring is on the cable for the drum brakes
I had to remove the That spring and then Install it back
I did have to cut the cable on the passenger side about 3”and put a new stop on so I had enough adjustment at the adjustment bracket

Worked on the Jimmy all day!
Got the hydro boost lines done
Got the brake proportional valve installed and all hooked up except one line
Installed the engine ground at the back of the engine
Routed more wires
Made the AN6 fuel lines and started install of those.
Also took the vent windows apart getting those ready for rebuild

It doesn’t sound like much but you have all the clean up of parts and planned way to install and all the other goodies that go with it.

I'm beat! It was hot and humid today thought I was in Houston!

Just went through your entire build
All I can say is "awesome"
Wish this forum had a "now thats sexy" button

Thank you!
Been a labor of love
Will post some new stuff in the next day or so

I am definitely intrigued to see the overall look. I wasn't expecting the tailgate band to be dark.
Looking forward to the reveal pictures!

The band turned out better than I expected
It looks even better with the gmc logo on it. It breaks up plain look and brings that factory style back to it.
I will get pics of that when I get it done.

I’m right there with you on the reveal pics!
I can wait till it’s done!
Then I can start the K30 Crew Cab I have
