How the heck does a guy get the top of an SM465 back on?
I bought one from the junkyard tonight to get the hydro bellhousing shift forks etc from. I took the top off, and while the coating on the shift forks is quite noticeably worn out (is there anything a guy can put on there to replace that coating?) I think they'll do ok, the forks in my 4x4 tranny have no coating at all.
However, I went to put the top back on, but it won't go. The right side slips down like it should, but the left side won't budge. I have it about halfway between reverse and neutral, but it won't go on.
