One of my lockouts was loose.....HELP

My passenger side lockout cap was loose so I thought the screws were loose that hold the cap on. Check the screws and they are all tight. Take the cap off and there isn't much grease left in there due to moisture getting in. Go around and check the dirver side which is still tight. Start to put the passenger side cap on and it won't tighten up against the hub. I can wiggle the cap and visibly see the play between the cap and hub. Go to the driver side and pull the cap to see if I have everything put back together right and i re-tighten the cap on the driver side and now it won't tighten all the way against the hub.

my truck did that with a set of MM's but i think it was due to mainly wear so i went out and replaced them with a set of superwinch, if i remember correctly i think there is a snap ring in there under the grease, see if it has broke.
