Hey all, i was looking at a 1982 K5 and from the front it looks like the passenger tire is sticking out further that the driver side (in relation to the fenders).
my question is this... what could cause that? mis-matched tires, bent frame, what?

any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

My first K-10 that after I got it back from the repair shop. I hit a compact car that turned left in front of me. Destroyed the car completely but it bent my frame badly. I didn't notice that one tire stuck out about two inches and one side of the front bumper was two inches lower until maybe 6 months later, unfortunately. I'll know better next time.

It drove fine and wasn't noticeable otherwise. It was an '82 by coincidence.

I would think that a bent frame would give you wandering and handling problems.
Have the body mounts been changed? I know when I did mine the body slid to one side by about an inch and it looked strange. I just pushed on one side until it lined up again. Maybe that's what your problem is.

I was always under the impression the pass. side always stuck out an inch further than the drivers. I know mine does and my truck has never been in any kind of wreck.

I had bent right front shackle as well!! Looked ok but when I installed my lift It was deffinately not

My rims all have the same backspaing, but my pass side sticks out 1"

My 74 was like that. I heard it was from the factory that way and assisted in turning so the tires wouldn't bind as much.

Exactly!

Look at the pictures of trucks in turns on this site, they all do it. If they look straight and track straight but look funny only when you turn the wheels and get out to look, it's normal.

If your worried take it to the front end shop for confirmation. My truck does the same thing and I had the same question until I verified it in the same way.

It's a Chevy thang.

Mine does it and it Pees me off, i like to lean out the window and watch teh front tire turn and such, easy on my SBlazer I cant hardly see it on my K10:crazy:
