One Ton\'s for $400

Hopefully the guy still has them /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif. They are out of a 76 Chevy with 4.10 gears. Woo hoo I'm excited /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: One Ton\'s for $400

K30's didn't appear till 77, so 1-tons in a 76 are a swap in.
I've seen some guys try to pass off d44's as d60's, so just make sure to check it out.

Re: One Ton\'s for $400

unless its an early military cucv. In 1976 the canadian military bout 7500 K30 chevs, dana 60 14 bolt, 4.56's, 350, turbo 400, and 203 case. these were a very desirable truck and with the canadian dollar the way it is i wouldnt be surprised to see a few of them in the states.

Re: One Ton\'s for $400

Since the Dana 44's and 60's look the same how can you easily tell them apart? I've never seen either before so I have no idea. /forums/images/graemlins/1zhelp.gif thx

Re: One Ton\'s for $400

D60 has king pins & D44 has ball joints. If you need more info just ask this "?" on Pirate, they will help out /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Re: One Ton\'s for $400

Also, the 60 has one u-bolt on the pass. side of the pumpkin and on the bottom right of the pumpkin it has "60F" cast on it. Or at least mine does /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Re: One Ton\'s for $400

Not fool proof. Dodge D44s have only 3 U-bolts & 2 studs.

Re: One Ton\'s for $400

They don't look exatly the same, but they are similar.
Easiest way to tell is to look at the steering arm on the driver's side knuckle (that the drag link attaches to.)
If it's somewhat U shaped and held on with three big nuts kind of in a row, it's a d44.
If it not u shaped and held on by four smaller nuts (in a square pattern) then it's the d60.
When you look at it's you'll see what I mean.

So it was mean of me to send him there?

Re: One Ton\'s for $400

It was only a 10 Bolt front /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif. Plus the guy sold it before I could go look at it /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif.
