when i had my shackel flip put in.. echobit... they attacked the spring directly to the flip and NOT with my old shackel in between... would this affect the ride any? No wonder it sags in the back even wiht 0 rates!
thans

Yes, It will not let the spring move which will damage it and it may break and take out other parts, not to mention a posible wreck. You need to get a shackle in there ASAP.

if the shackle is not there it will not let the spring flex and it may break something.the shackle is what allows the spring to flatten under load.it will ride like poopoo also.

I'm speachless! I can't even imagine how stiff that would have been! They must have really had to futz around with it to get the spring eye to exactly line up with the flip bracket (flip has a 1" offset!). Its a good thing you caught it. Just in case you don't have the instructions that came with it - read through them here and double check everything.

Installation Instructions:

okay, sure thing, i will take a pic of it tomorrow morning right before i go to get it fixed. i would just do it myself, but like anything else aint got the place or the tools to. really makes me mad that i cant even work on my own truck.

dont worry bro, youre not the only one ! i have a [censored] load of stuff here to install and now way to install them. i have to save up $$$$$$ to afford a body shop or compentent mechanic. been screwed by both as of lately ! good luck.

Well atleast im not the only one. Know how ya feel! Anyway, i got the pictures now. Duno if they will coem out good. But I put my spotlight on it and took the pic with flash. Ill get them developed sat and scanned. And posted on here by sat night sunday morn most likely. thanks guys

you better talk alot of **** to that shop for doing something like that. i wontder how they even fit it in? isnt the spring too long for it.

Wow! Did the shop owner have big mouse ears? Man, thats messed up. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

no, the owner is alright. he just had his assistant mech do it, but i dont feel like messing with them anymore, im just kinda pissed.

did they give you back the old shackle so you can still replace it?if not i'd make them get you a new one.

If the shop doesn't have your shackles, make them order you a set of my heavy duty ones as replacements... I'll return the favor they did you and charge the shop double... then split it with you so you can go get them installed somewhere else! /forums/images/graemlins/ignore.gif
