Operation Sweet Pea:
This beast is going to be my wifes daily driver / project. We have been looking for a K5 for her for a little while. We would think we found one then it was to much of a project. Wife was wanting something she could drive and we could work on at the same time. It is a 84 GMC Jimmy.
It runs pretty good, has some blow by, but I think it is from valve covers. Got to put new shocks on it shortly and get some new front suspension parts to keep it from walking while we drive it. I think parts are wore out. I think it is a quad front shock. It looks like it has a upper shock mount but nothing to mount lower. I have attatched pics. It is pretty loud and I think we will be putting a little bit quieter mufflers on it.
I have attatched pics of the jimmy and the shock location. I have also attatched a pic of the plate that is inside the inner fender behind the tire. It is rusted out and need to know if I can find a replacement for both sides.
We will be documenting our progress as we go.

Good starting place.

Ditch the idea dual front shocks, and get a set of quality shocks to replace.

If its stock height, i can't say enough good about the Bilstein 4600's, or Bilstein HD's.

Mine were amazing for a driver/tow rig. A little spendy, but cheaper than buying crap then replacing when you aren't happy.

Best of luck!
