Alright i have my lockright for my dana 60, and i've been reading about how to install it. I keep getting mixed reviews on how to get it in there. I found this article.

The only thing that makes me nervous is how this guy ground down one tooth on the ring gear. I am look at my own 60 right now and i cant even tell if it will clear or not, it seems to be either way by like 1 or 2 mm's i haven't had a chance to get the roll pin out yet. Would grinding down ONE tooth on the ring gear a mm or 2 be bad? My truck has a stock 350 in it with 120.000miles or so, not much power. Oh its also a 4:56gear stock in the 60.

Grinding down one tooth probably won't hurt anything, that's far from the highest pressure point.

Many, many people (myself included) have done exactly that with no issues.

I pulled the carrier out to install mine. While the carrier is out put in new axle tube seals. The seals were harder to install than the Lockrite.

I didn't have to grind my ring gear to install my lockright.
