Its time to get this thing on the road (LITERALLY)

which means time for tires/rims.

Here's my situation. I wanted the M/T baja claw radials- since the truck is all show, no reason for some super duper rock grabbers--- then John saw that Super Swamper- has the same thing- a pretty cool looking tire, for on road use- The price on them is pretty much the same- regardless of which ones I get-

Between MT and SS- where am I going to get the best wear/ tread life? I have never owned either brand, but the guy that just bought my GY's, had baja claws- and got about 22,000 miles from them- that would be like 5 years of driving ...

I need opinions ,not looking for facts, just tell me what you have gotten, which you prefer and why--

road noise bears no wearing on my mind- the truck is loud enough without tires- I doublt I'll hear any humming

thanks!

LOVING the new Duramax!!!

The only tire that Interco makes that resembles the M T Claw is the Bogger.
And that is no Road tire by any means.
Unless they have another directional tire that I don't know about.
On the other hand Pro-Comps new one the Ex-terrain is a sporty tire that is functional too.
From what I have read it kicks ass off road and has nice road manners.

The swamper in question is the
Super Swamper Radial/TSL

However, having never run either brand- I'm looking for tread wear, life, etc.. on the brand itself- not so much the specific tire..

thanks!

Frank (Blazin Or) is running SSR's I beleive.
When I met him at sand lake i asked him how they were and he was pleased with their performance on and off road.
Swampers are definately on my next tire list.
I am still trying to decide on which one to get.
For your application the SSR's would prolly be a good choice.

Yep, still love them. They are what I consider a great street tire, very quiet as mud tires go and are really good in rain, due to the siping. Oh, and pretty good off road too

. In a perfect world I'd try a set of Claws for the sand but that kind of experimenting won't happen till I hit the Powerball...........

If your looking for the best of both worlds- give it up. 'cuz ya can't have it. Thats just the way it is.

If you use your truck for the street, than go for a street tire. Like a BFG AT or (I like, but wears quicker) the goodyear AT/S.

My opinion based on my intrpitation of facts.

But I'm not driving it every day- this is a "sunday driver" so to speak... I have 2 kids to lift up in this thing every time we go somewhere. I have a daily driver- read my sig---

The truck is built for looks,,,,, I'm more concerned with that than really anything else... I have seen the MT baja's in person, I know what they look like I have talked to a few people about them... the SSR's i have no idea--

oh and by the way- THESE are street tires- hence the word RADIAL--- they are light truck tires, not really for much else than the street..
