i bought a 14bff and was told that it was a 4.10 srw and when i got home i measured and i believe the wms to wms is about 70 inches so i think it is out of a van i don't know what year or anything i counted the ring gear teeth and i got 45 didn't count the pinion what ratio could it be? 4.09? i have never heard of a 4.09 before

it has a broke drum and no brakes or hardware and i think it may need bearings but not sure cause the cover was all rusty and there was some rust flakes in it but not on gears or anything

i have a 89 k5 and i am keeping my 10 bolt for now putting 8 lug outers it has 4.10 gears i am only running 35's so i think i will be ok

so did i just wast my money on this 14b i paid $100 or will i be ok i don't know if it will be too wide and if it is 4.09 will it be ok with my 4.10 front

disk brake kit the rear.

70" = no wheel spacers to make match the front at 69" so .5" wider each side in rear.

100 bucks for a van width rear is cheep.

and 4.09 is just fine with 4.10. thats a comon ratio mix from 1 brand of axle to other.

i was thinking about disk brakes but how do you do the e brake since i drive mine on the street i have to have one i searched on here but could not come up with anything that sounded to good to me like the cadilac calipers or a line lock just don't sound to good

well i looked at it again and i think i am just going to clean everything up with diesel real good to get all the rust out i can and then put either a detroit or a yukon grizzly locker new they are only $389 has anyone ever used one of those?
