THIS is an old pic of my truck that I'm using to figure out how i want to chop my bed. The cutting would include the back fender well, along under the doors, and the front fender a bit. Rock sliders will be build for under the cab.

Tell me what you think about it. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

why would you wanna do something like that? personally i don't like it, but its not my truck, so do what you want.

i did like what the guy with the k30 did in the 01 TTC, choped it at more of an angle.

basically cutting the bottom off and shortening the bed for departure angle. That little black square at the back of the bed will be a 2x2 tubing bumper that widens into a 2x5 piece in the middle.

Cutting the bed sides at an angle is something i saw on a truck here in town and liked it. It looks better when seen on a truck than in my stupid picture. /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

What kills me about doing this is that I can count on one hand how many times I've bashed the rear of my rig. It's the approach angle that needs work...departure angle is actually pretty good on our rig from the factory.

Yeah, all the work involved and the fact that i don't like what the finished projets i've seen so far look like, i've just decided to go flat bed and make it the length i want it
Simple and clean looking, the only problem is keeping the flat bed lighter then the stock bed
