So Cal.
I Need a flatbed. Found this cool 4x4 F450. Perfecr for my needs. Will park in a spot outside my shop. Just have concerns with Fords Powerstrokes. This being an 05'. Heard good and some bad. Can be easily fixed sounds like. Opinions please. 109.000 ain't bad on a ten year old truck. Thanks

If a 6.0 has had impeccable care it should be ok
Otherwise issues from coolant, egr, head gaskets can be BIG problems
Contact Sean Smith
He works at a Ford desler

Add says 6.0. 05' I thought had the 6.7. Its a Ford. Who freakin knows. I Dig the 12" 16k cap. Flatbed and 4x4. Sick looking work truck. Just hope its not a POS in hiding. Will have my mechanic go over it with a fine tooth comb before I commit, or I won't buy it. If it seems to be solid I just may buy it.

@Z71paramedic

Talk to Sean he sees all there is.

Well as far as Ford repairs.

I know several people with zero problem 6.0s

Youre right there are people who havent had problems with them. Id still avoid it unless it was insanely under priced. If it was a 7.3 id say jump. Id also take an older dodge over those two any day of the week.

I am the mechanic for a fleet of Fords and I have an '04 6.0L I bought for $200 from an oil field guy I used to do work for. It was not running and really thrashed on. I did a homemade egr delete and an open crankcase breather conversion and it's been a pretty good truck for 4 yrs. Some of them are ok trucks and others are big piles of crap. I personally wouldn't pay much money for one just cuz they can go either direction. I would rather go buy an older 7.3L/6 speed truck and put some money into it to fix it up.

Passing on it. Rougher in person. Can see rad leak issues. Will keep hunting, thanks fella's

Thanks for the info. I want a reliable flatbed for sure.

The 6.0's are good engines but the supporting systems are where the problem lies
Like I said if they have meticulous care they can be good trucks
My brother has an 04 and wishes he would have kept his 2000-7.3 instead
The 6.0 don't pull as good as the 7.3 did.

So why not just buy a flatdeck trailer. Or flatbed the big ol dually?

Flat beds are actually kind of awesome with campers

Actually thinking about a flatbed for the crewcab, then camper just like ya said. Decisions...decisions...
