I have an '84 K-10 with a 350/350 drivetrain. The tranny started puking out the dipstick, vent was clear so I had it replaced with a rebuilt 700R4. I wanted the overdrive anyway. The wiring harness had been cut and the tranny guy was tracing the wiring down when I stopped buy to check on it. He recommended a manual valve torque converter lockup (It's in the valving-he said like some racers use) over the vacuum/electric that came from the factory. He said it was more reliable and that the tranny wouldn't "search" as much. Which is the best for a daily driver? He said it is also better for light towing. Thanks for any advice.

I had one done the same way about 8 years ago. In fact when I had it done two other competitors trani shops asked me if they could "take a peek" and see just how it was done. I let one of them do just that...of coarse i got a free 205 rebuild outta the deal for them doing so. It's a good durable setup. Mine worked great...until I twisted and output shaft. Just dont tow in OD

Thanks for the reply. The info that came with it says it is a "Hydraulic Lock-up Package" It seems to do fine. I was just not familiar with it. Thanks again.
