1/2 ton status
I did some brief searching on this, and my forum-fu must be weak today cuz I'm not finding anything concise, I was expecting tons of discussion on this guy's lift springs vs. that guy's.
Anyway, I've got a 1990 Suburban 3/4t that's officially crossed the line from "simple engine swap" to "full blown 'build up.'" 350 blew up, it's getting a 6.2 TD later. Stock front springs were shot to begin with so they're already on the scrap pile, now I'm looking for some new lift springs, I'm thinking about 4". Already have extended brake lines so I think I'm just looking for the front springs right now, I'm still debating what I want to do as far as steering & rear lift options.
soooo....
What's the word out there on who's springs y'all like? I want something heavy duty since I'm putting in a heavier engine, maybe a winch before I'm done, and it is a 3/4 ton after all. Will NOT be a hard-core rockcrawler, more an overland truck that sees alot of street time, so a smooth ride would be nice too. Surely with all the options & tech out there I can have it both ways, right?
