I checked out common problems on the 6.4. Yeah he doesn't need that thing, less problems than the 6.0, but still substantial issues. The 6.7 coming in the 2011 sounds great, but he doesn't need anything like that, and the price is gonna be outrageous.
He went to the Ford dealership and talked to the commercial salesman. He said the new f-150 in comparison is very different than the chevy 1500. They can tow and haul more mainly. So that may be a contender. Plus they have big rebates right now.
Otherwise it will be a used 2005-2007 GM, 2500HD with some undecided engine. Either the 6.0, 8.1 if available in 05, or the 6.6.
