I am installing a one piece felpro oil pan gasket. I was curious to how many of you out there will use rtv sealant and the gasket. ? I plan on doing both.

Let me know.

On the felpro blue gaskets with the metal inserts i know it says to NOT put any gasket maker on it and that they go on dry. Ive always put that style on dry and have had no leaks. Love those gaskets.

I insall gaskets dry, usually just a dab of rtv to help em stay in place if I am having issues with that but a very small amount

I put a felpro oil pan gasket on mine years ago and it went on dry. Years of abuse later I've never had a drip out of it.

I've used a couple of those one piece oil pan sets, they are a bit more pricey, but damn worth it, they are awesome, never anything leaked with them either. NO RTV USEAGE ON THEM. :D

follow instructions, i put my one piece fel-pro on an like a dummy put a dab of rtv in the hard corners at the mains and it leaks at the rear, i've used them in the past dry and had no issues.. . . don't know why i did that:dunno:

It says in the instructions that come with the fel pro one piece gaskets to use a dab of rtv in the corners where the mains meet the block. I know, who reads the instructions:whistle:

Ive never used any rtv on them though, even where it says to and never had any leaks.
