I was taking my gauges apart to get to the lights because mine are extremely dim, i found out there are 2 behind it and one is dead. So in order to get to it i thought u have to take off the speedo face, and in order to do that, you have to take the needle off of the face plate.. BAD IDEA. I figured it just poped out and poped back in, so i just pulled on it a lil and it came right off, but it appears i snaped it off, its all metal though, so i dont know how it happened. Any clue how to fix this!!!?

Gently , with the right amount of force ( its a feel thang ) push it back on . I pop my needles off all the time , when I replace a gauge and the needles are wrong colors :k5: :k5:

Then again, this dude pops alot of things off in his truck, so i dunno

i just tried what you said, and it doesnt push into anything. There is no "female" part of the needle, both just metal studs.. argh, here are some pics to help better explain whats up.

sry about the blurry shots to.. best my camera will do that close up

i was thinkin a lil JB weld.. i never really had luck w/ that stuff though. Man i need the guage badly to, driving around here the cops already prob have a million reason to pull me over i dont need to be speeding on top of it.

I just went and looked at my other one ( 100 mph older one ) and it came right off and went back one . If you broke the little thin needle that the pointer pushes back onto , you need a new one . Where ya at ? I have a 100 mph one in the garage , its off a 2wd truck though so no cutout for 4wd indicator . And from the color of your pointer you have an 80's truck ? They are abundant in yards , and maybe you can get close enough to right mileage showing :k5: :k5:

ya i have an 87, ill go to a yard i guess after i try jb weld as a last ditch effort. how do you get them off any way then if you cant pull them off?

All my gauges needles , in both trucks , just pull straight up and off , including the speedo . I had a temp gauge go , and a oil gauge read low , replaced with other gauges , but prior to 81 they were red pointers , so I swapped pointers . I did take the speedo one off anyway just because , and it took a little twisting and pulling up gently and it came right off , and it popped right back on , then I just turned it until it stopped at the beginning so it lined up wit 0 at rest ( leading me to belive technically I could reclock my pointer so its correct at 45 mph in town  ) :k5: :k5:
