:DGoing to strip my interior and have the inside LiNE X'd, But I want to do something about the back side panels. I mount my axe/shovel on one side and want to be able to mount stuff on the other side. Im not thrilled with the existing vinyl covered thick cardboard. But what are my options?

ABout the only thing I can think of is Aluminum diamond plate. I know I dont want to do anything with wood or particle board. Is there any other kind of aluminum that could be used that would look good. Im trying to rack my brain about what other ideas could be used. I have some pretty cool ideas that I want to put into the design of the sides like cubby holes, interior lighting and speakers.

Anyways, just wanted some ideas I may have missed or find someone that is thinking outside the box.

Aluminum works, but to use them for mounting stuff I'd think you'd need to add some tabs to secure it to the bed, wheel well area, etc. Or for that long a run, adding a frame to the back to stiffen it would work. You could coat aluminum (or steel) with Linex and not worry about whether it's diamond plated or whatever.

I just got rid of the side panels and mounted stuff to the inside wall of the bed and top of the wheel wells.

i can take better ones once i get the truck back this week prob tuesday if these arent good enough

Thanks for the pics. if you could get some that are a lil brighter so we can see the detail. What area IM wondering about is where the seat belt mounts at the bottom. What did you do for that. Im thinking of running diamond plate all the way to the floor in that area.

Im also thinking of running NO panels at all. THis would give more room. I took the brackets off that held the panels. When I get the interior LINE Xd. any small holes that arent being used will be filled in. SO its do or die.

I pulled my panels and chucked em. Much better, there only cosmetic space wasters. Those stand-offs/mounts for the panel could be put back on easily if you decided to go back to panels. Id get the sides line xd (I used herculiner) regardless of wether or not you go with panels. Have it either way.

Yea, I yanked my side panels. If I put anything itll be diamond plate, not the factory panels. I pulled the stand off brackets so I could get the wides completely done. But I plan to preserve the bracket holes so I could put them back. I plan to use the space to mount stuff anyway. so I may use those brackets or come up with something else.
